Sounds like "Stuff"(dirt, crud) found it's way into the carbs around the needle/seat area causing it (them) to "flood".

If that's the case it will require that the effected parts be removed, inspected, cleaned or repaired, reassembled, and reinstalled.

So should I start with a carb. rebuild??After I got it to idle it was very high about 30000 rpm.I moved the red knob when it was idleing high and it died.Does this still sound like carbs?? Thanks John

Yepblaze is telling it true.
If you have gas comming out of the carbs, the needle valve that shuts off the fuel when the float pushes it up, is not shutting off the flow of fuel. If you can pump the primer bulb, and get gas to leak out of the carbs, samey-same.
Sometimes, you can gently tap the bowl with something (like a screwdriver handle), while someone else pumps the primer. You can sometimes get the needle to seat. And sometimes not,in which case, you must tear down the carbs.
Avoid adjustments to any of the carbs. If they aren't up to par, this means something is wrong. So that when you fix the carb, they will be out of adjustment.

My engine is an 88 Force 125 and seems to run fine. It does leak gas from the carbs when I pump the primer bulb, this is how I tell that they are full and I am ready to start. Should this not happen?

Thanks,
Bryan

Hi Bry

No, needle valves shut gas off without leaking, when functioning properly. Your motor will run better if you clean carbs. Chances are your roblem will get worse too.

By the way, this should be in a new topic, maybe the trained force people would react then !
