I have a 2001 200hp FICHT. I’ve had it for about 5 years always fired right up. Only thing is it's always surging at idle. Like up and down in RPM 2-400 RPM or so. It’s like one cylinder maybe two cuts and out. I’ve seen several videos of the engine it seems others have had the same issue. A couple things I can rule out… water separator… plugs… I took the fuel line off at the water separator and a good stream came out when I turned on the key so I’m pretty sure fuel pressure is good. It hauls ass WOT so again I don’t think it’s fuel… then again perhaps what ever regulates the fuel pressure [ fuel vapor separator???] isn’t %100?? Would like to test that I found the test port… but somehow I doubt that’s it?? Any ideas??? I’m thinking a bad plug wire… could be a bad plug but it did the same thing with another set. Coil??/ Any suggestion what I should look for? I do have that diagnostic software I recall there were some injector tests or something. I’m not at the boats location it’s at my cottage so trying to come up with a game plan for the next time I can have at it. Thanks
