idles ok

I have a mariner 40c 6e9 515698. Idles good, rev it up and it sounds like it runs out of fuel, I kited the carbs, getting fuel ok, getting fire ok. I subed the fuel line and tank, same thing. Could it be ignition ?

Did you try squeezing the bulb while at higher throttle and see if it picked up?

Yes I did, no difference. It's just like you turned off the key at high rpm, then when you cut the throttle it idles ok. Going to check the ignition today with cd77.

Anyone know what the secondary should read on the ign coil.

Subbed a new coil, no change. Going to try a cdi unit.
