idol problem on 95 mariah shabba w/350 fuelinjection

I have a 1995 mariah shabba with a efi 350v8. After I run it for about 1hr sometimes less I get an irradic idol when in neutral. At the same time its hard to shift in and out of gear. Also sometimes i can hear some type of warning beeper go off in the engine compartment and smells like its running rich or has gas smell. At this stage it will die and is hard to start, but if it stays running it does fine when in gear or after you plain off. Also I noticed the oil presure going up and down with rpm. It does it every time I take it out. other people say its a sensor prob. or mabey fuel pump. the temp gauge always looks normal too. can anyone give me any sugg.?

EFI and Fuel. <br />Pretty open question with no mention of any testing or test results. <br />Do you see any fuel leaking or signs of fuel being contaminated? Water leaking into a tank?<br />Do you have a manual to find out about the warning buzzer? Most efi's have a limp home mode if an impotant sensor is not working. The motor will run poorly if this is the case. Do you still have a distributor or D.I.S? <br />Some deffective ignition modules will act up with heat. <br />Your oil sensor, is it stable when the motor idles fine or just when it acts up?<br />As dumb as this sounds, pull the dip stick and check your oil level. SMELL the dipstick to see if it smells of gas or oil. When the engine runs very ruff or floods out, then there could be unburned gas leaking past the pistons and getting in the oil.<br />If the oil is clean with no fuel in it, then there could be a pressure or sensor issue but the manual will give you a test for these.<br /><br />There are too many variables for a guess to even come from. Trust me there are many technitions on this site who will be happy to help on your issues but you will have to start each problem from the beginning with more detail to get an answer.

I agree with the last post, however first thing is to check the fuel filter and fuel pump. Make sure you use a fuel filter for an EFI engine as they are finer filter than a carb eng. Also check the throttle body. Rough running and hard shifting tend to point to a bad short shift cable.
