Re: If I buy a newer boat wife says I have to get rid of my old one

Our second boat came with the house...900 miles away, so the conversation of two boats never came up. If the Starcraft was parked next to the SeaRay, I don't think the conversation would've come up, since one of them would be wearing a "For Sale" sign. Unless the boats have a dramatically different purpose, I don't see a reason to have both.

Now if I had a Bass Tracker, a Master Craft ski boat, a Fountain Lightning, and a SeaRay 400, I could maybe make the case that each boat has a distinct purpose.

Sorry, that may not have been the support that you were shopping for. In your support, though. My lame winterization has left the SeaRay without a motor so the Missouri boat is the only one operational right now. So your justification could be, "Darling, if I ever completely trash a motor on one boat, at least we'll have one to fall back on!"

Tell me if that works for you.

In the name of full disclosure, both boats may be together this summer if I take the SeaRay up to Lake of The Ozarks with me.

A friend there will repower it for me there and we would have a smaller boat to tool around during the weekdays.

I didn't want to be hypocritical about with my example of one of them getting "For Sale" sign in that situation. Just saving the 'smack' that somebody would give me later.
