If I put this on ebay or in the paper, what should I expect to get out of it?

ShawnQ- Get your tools out and start taken that sucker apart. Its worth a lot more piece by piece than it is whole. Besides shipping is easier too! On ebay you'll find lots of bids on every part you have from the nuts and bolts to the fly wheel. Really now the whole think is worth 200.00 bucks to some one needing it as a parts motor. But you could do 700.00 if you piece it. I do it all the time. It takes time to do but its not any good the way it is now.
steve

Shawn,

If that is an electric shift and the lower unit is in good shape? That alone is worth more than the entire engine.

The items that get the best response and the highest price on e-bay are those that include an accurate description with part numbers and GOOD photos.

I agree with the previous posts that your efforts will be well rewarded.

Good luck,

If the electric shift model is the one with the push buttons, it's not one. However, in the model number it says 'ES', which I assumed at first was electric shift...but now realize it is probably electric start. The shift linkage is on the same cable/rod as the throttle on this one.

I'll look into parting it out. Should I tear down the complete powerhead, or just tear down the other parts? I'm assuming if I tear down the powerhead I'll get good money out of the crank/rods/2 good pistons. Then, the block itself may be good to someone for boring and re-building.

Thanks!
Shawn

Shawn,

If you have two cables, it's not an electric shift. The lower unit, if good, is still worth a couple hundred $$$.

The farther you tear it down, the more the parts are worth.
