Seloc shows how difficult a repair will be, but doesn't state how much harder it is using their book.

My '82 manual is like that. Although it's in book form, it's drilled for a three hole binder and the pages / binding structure look like it's designed so the pages can just be removed to be put in a binder.

The OMC manuals from the mid 50's thru probably early 70's (not real sure here) co0vered all models in any given year and were really BIG.

I was going to order a Seloc but from the sounds of it I should search out an OMC manual,makes me cringe when they closed J.C. Pierce,(our local dealer) their OMC manuals probably got shot into a dumpster I know some of the stuff sold at the liquidation auction,(parts mainly) went for scrap

Just looking on Ebay,no 6hp manuals that are 76,I was thinking I see they have parts manuals on there as well,I remember when I restored a Triumph motorcycle how much help a factory parts manual was,I wonder if it would be a good idea to have a 76 6hp parts manual as well as an OMC factory service manual.

it makes plenty of sense to get all the literature you can.

i found a guy with a bunch of manuals and I bought the accessory manuals for my year motor.

a parts manual is also a great idea...even if the net has the same info..it is nice to take it along wit you to the motor..

This maybe a silly question with not seeing a parts manual in person; does the parts manual show the exploded diagrams as I have found on the net?

I have been so caught up with reading the information is the service manual, it feels like I just got my first comic book, I wish I would have stopped way back in May and got the book, life and my wallet would have been a whole lot better. Live and learn. Thanks again to all?

A parts manual is nice...the exploded view helps at times to get a better picture of what your working on....plus its nice when you have to order parts...even if the part is superceded the old number will bring you the new number

I have a clymers for my volvo wasnt very good asked a question on this forum about factory manuals somebody told me about the adult only section on iboats and downloaded the factory manuals for FREE gotta love iboats.com. ya'll should check it out..

Volvo greenbooks (factory) are or were online at a russian server.
I'm talking auto but it might be useful for marine.

Update:

I went through the LINK & SYNC from the service manual, my motor is at
98.9%. The Clymer's missed so many of the steps, I am embarrassed to tell anyone that I have one. The Service manual that I have is "CC" Loop V Service Manual P/N 507664. Not that I want any problems for my motor, but if I do, I feel that I have the needed info to get it back running.
The best back-up that I have to the manual is all the help here. For that I can never say thank you enough... Just keep looking for my posts, there will be teasers to get you to read them...
