I have a 1989 Wellcraft 192 Classic with a OMC 4.3 Cobra sterndrive. I'm looking to change from points to electronic ignition. What are my options, as it seems that I have none, they have all been discontinued. I have had good luck with Mallory Uni-lite and Alison in cars but not for boating, and I know it has to be marine approved so any help would be appreciated.

Jim.

Re: Ignition Conversion

Call petronix and they will hook you up. Only thing is you will have to change your ESA. The newer ESA allows you to use electronic ignition

Using an OMC Cobra/Pertronix here. No issues.

Re: Ignition Conversion

Thank you everyone, I did contact Pertronix and they asked for my distributor model # and they did have an ignitor for my boat, I opted for the ignitor II. I ordered one and will not miss replacing the points.
