I am Looking for a Diagram to know what King of ignition to buy for my Newly acquired Pontoon, Its at a Family members house and i need to buy Ignition switch ( unless there is a way to use one without a key) before I go and start work on replacing that, the fuel hoses and Clean it up.

Would a Universal switch with 3 connectors work?

Ya have to tell us what motor is on the back. Being on a pontoon is unimportant, knowing what motor is. The wiring diagram you need is motor brand and model specific.

I'm thinking that unless you're willing and able to do some experimenting, your best solution would be to seek out a replacement switch from Bomber. And yes, it's likely going to be expensive, especially when compared to a much simpler switch. The "push to choke" function alone puts it into pretty unusual company.

If this were my boat, here's what I'd do.
  1. Try to locate some identifying number on the throttle/switch assembly and use that to find a part number for the switch.
  2. Remove the switch enough to see the back and note the number of connections. Leave the wires connected for now.
  3. Use Google to identify a suitable replacement switch "ignition switch choke johnson" based on part numbers and connections.
  4. Find the cheapest one and buy it. (I saw some that resembled yours for less than $20).
  5. Confirm the new one looks like a suitable replacement and install it one wire at a time.

Now That I have a little time to look at the wiring and Boat ect. Ive got a Little work to do.
There are 4 Wires that Have been Cut off that came up by the Battery. Ill have to find what they go to and how/where to connect them. The Fuel Line is Cut off I have to know how to Connect the Fuel Line to what looks like a fuel filter and then to the Motor, yet I don't see where a Fuel line would enter the cowl or connect to engine yet. Posted some Pics to better let you know what Im working with

For answers about your engine and its wiring, I suggest you post on the Johnson engine forum here at iboats.com. You'll likely get a quicker response. ... As for pontoon boat wiring, you'll not likely find a diagram for any old pontoon boat. Your best bet is to use a multimeter and long jumper cables to determine which wire at the console controls which device. Once you find the main accessory power feed and ground, you can wire the accessories however you like.

Normally those filters have arrows indicating direction of fuel flow.

There is 4 wires one is orange with red stripe, one is purple or black, the ther 2 look green with black stripe. none of these go to engine. there is no battery directly to engine it feeds to the console. and the engine power and ground runs to console. The color scheme is the same on all the 2003 Tahoe Blueridge Se Fish-n-fun pontoons. just need a picture or diagram. or a good explanation of the from battery to what post on key switch/ guage ect on console.

I have no simple answer to your question, but your answers to these questions might help us help you. First, is there a battery in the boat and is it connected to anything? Second, are there electrical systems that seem to work (e.g., engine starts, runs, trim works, etc.)? If so have you checked all the other electrical systems to see if any don't work? Third, do the four cut wires appear to have been connected to the battery at one time (e.g., they end very near where the battery is located)? And last, can you access the backside of the console to see if there are wires similar to the cut ones?

The 4 Cut wires Must have went to Battery or Battery and something else. I am gonna run a jumper and see where they connect up front on the console. they do not connect to motor and Battery is not connected and yes wires come up next to where battery goes.

My experience is somewhat limited, but here's what I think is common. Typically the heavy positive and negative cables from the battery go to the engine so it has ample current for the starter. Additional wires run from the engine compartment to the ignition switch area to start, run and shutoff the engine, and to control the choke/fuel enrichment (if there is one) and the tilt/trim system. If there are systems that are to get power only when the key is on, they will be connected at the ignition switch. If there are systems that can be powered without use of the key (e.g., deck lights), they may be wired directly to the battery. As boats are not routinely grounded through the frame like cars, my guess is that two of your mystery wires carried power to something and two were grounds for those same two systems. My wild guess is that the green/black stripe wires are the grounds.

So after Further Inspection, I did find that the heavy cables for teh battery were cut too, Ends have been placed on them . 3 black wires were placed on negative and one yellow/red wire on positive and engine ran. Only started it and shut off with ear muffs, because before running i want to have the Carbs Cleaned, The fuel filters all replaced and the water separator filter replaced. will follow up once I get it done

Did you happen to look at the SYMBOL next to the ignition switch. That symbol says the engine KILL (man overboard) switch is built into the ignition switch. To enable the function a plastic clip on the end of a lanyard was inserted by the key to disable the kill function. The lanyard attaches to the driver. Should you get pitched overboard or at least pitched from the helm seat the lanyard pulls the clip out and the engine dies. Although a generic ignition switch will work, it will not have that kill feature so it would need to be incorporated with a separate switch for that function. You have an EFI four stroke so a push to choke feature is not needed (unless this engine is carbureted).
