Not exactly sure what you mean by "spark to the points" and "spark to the coil". Your points just control current flow through the coil, and you should get spark FROM the coil center wire. Try this: Pull the center wire from the distributor cap and lay the end near (about 1/4 inch) from bare block metal and crank it over. If you get spark from the wire to the block, your coil and points are OK. If not the problem is most likely the points. Hope you didn't use your test light for the "coil wire" that comes out of the center of the coil. Those test lights are for 12V, not 20,000 volts.
