Recently my o2 merc. 4 stroke OB was in for service and someone left the key on for 3 1/2 days. The hour meter on the dash went up 82hrs and battery needed to be recharged. Question, did the internal computer on the engine also tick resulting in the appearance that my motor now has an extra 82 hrs that may hurt resale value? Also could this damage anything in the ignition system?

I don't think it will hurt anything, but yes as far as the computer knows the engine was running for that 82 hours. Was it in to the dealer for service?

Yes, it has been at 2 shops since last fall with only a partial fix for the same problem. <br />Rough running engine at trolling speed,750rpm. They say it wasn't driven at high RPMs long enough to seat the rings at break-in (now 62 hrs) To fix I'm supposed to run it 4500 to 5500 rpms for 2-3 hrs consecutivly, to seat the rings??????This is per merc factory tech...I think they just want me to blow it up because I'm being persistant.lol. I'll try to talk to them Monday to confirm instructions given to me thru the dealer.
