Motor is a 1993 Mercury 2-stroke 60HP 3 cylinder outboard.
Is this the ignition module for it?:
Is it common for these to become faulty? I've got an issue that after the motor's been running for a while (5 to 10 minutes) it has a huge loss in power. I've checked the fuel - all the lines are clean, pulled the carbys apart and they were clean. Changed plugs and leads. I've put a timing light on the leads and it would seem that the coils are still firing, so I'm sort of lost now as to what it could be, wondering if a faulty ignition module could be the cause, was speaking to a bloke the other day who reckons that these are a common fault. Is there any way to test it?
