Hi, Ive been having an issue with my 97 35hp johnson mod# J35QLEUR. Its been running in what the manual calls S.L.O.W. mode. This kicks in when there is low oil,or overheating,or a shorted lead in the oil sendig unit or temperature switch. I am getting oil from the sending unit and its not overheating . The manual says that if one of the above mentioned leads is shorted to ground the ignition module is bad and needs to be replaced the the motor should come out of S.L.O.W. The problem is tha I cannot find a new ignition module for this motor Ive called the local marine store and the guy told me there is no ign. mod. on my motor so its probably the power pack and it should be replaced. I dont think the manual would lie about the ign.mod. and I have seen a 1997 ig.mog. for a 15 hp johnson for sale on ebay. Does anyone know where I can find a new one for my motor? all help will be greatly appreciated. thank you

Disconnect the tan sensor wires and see if it comes out of SLOW. Maybe I misread your post but it sounds like you haven't tested any of the sensors. A powerpack is a lot of money especially if its not bad.

List is $315. I don't know why they can't give you a price on it. Like Walker said, you should be doing some testing as he describes before dropping $$$

Here's an aftermarket one for a lot less
http://www.iboats.com/mall/partfind...d_poid.112903/gd_row.54/**********.177596468/
