I have problem with a Suzuki DT 65 from 1986. It is weak in idle and stalles easily. As soon as I put in the gear it stops. If I succeed to start (very seldom) it runs fine on low and full speed.<br /><br />I have checked the Carburator and reed valves. Looks fine. I also checked the compression - ok on all three cylinders.<br /><br />But when I looked at the ignition it seems to stay at -10 degress in idle. It should be around 0 to +8 degrees. The idle adjustment which changes the ignition timing does not work (has no effect on idle RPM).<br /><br />Then, when I read the repair handbook I dicover that there is a function that sets the ignition to -10 during 15 seconds after start-up.<br /><br />Can it be this function that is "hanging". Would it make the engine so weak?<br /><br />I am supriced that Suzuki advance the ignition during start-up. I would have expected the opposite to get a smoth start???<br /><br />I guess if my analysis is correct its the CDI that is broken, small expense to look forward to...<br /><br />Happy for any response!! /Sune
