ignition problem?????

I have a 1989 60hp vro evinrude. My problem is that when the motor is reved up to about mid range eiter in gear or neutral the engine cuts in and out consistently like a rev limiter.I can turn the motor off and back on and the motor does fine.I didn't have this problem until local shop put new hot horn in the control box.By the way the vro is bypassed.<br />Any info is greatly appreciated

Disconnect the tan wire going to the power pack, if it has one and try it. If this engine has S.L.O.W., and SLOW is being set, engine overheat, or wrong horn in control box.

i unplugged the tan wire and the problem seems to be cured<br /><br />you are a saint thanks so much
