Tuesday night, I went fishing with my inflatable boat and not long after I left the motor started to loose power and totally shut down. I tryed restarting it but it was a little hard. It did fired up but it had no power. I opened up the cowl to check if spark plugs wire or any other coil or powerpacks loose connections and every thing was ok. Went back slowly at the boat lauching ramp.
Yesterday, I did spark tests with a spark tester and I have intermitent spark on both cylinders. SO my question is: is it the powerpack or the coils? I am pretty sure it's the powerpack because my other 7.5HP does the same thing too. It all started by only a small lag of a second when going to idle to full throttle pretty fast.
Motor has 90PSI of compression in both cylinders and runs really good when the boat is on plane. Is it worth repairing if I have to change both, coils and powerpack.
