I just bought a new ignition sensor for a 4.3 V6 thnderblot mercruiser. But instead of withe and green and white and read wires the ingnitiin switch wire are plain red black and white. Just curious as to if I hook red to red and white. And white to the green and white

Looks aftermarket. Assuming it works, the Black should be grounded to the block. Connect the other 2 to your leads

Is that definitely the right part for it ? Not like any I’ve seen. Looks from the Far East !

unless there are instructions, I would make your job easier and get one of the reputable ones that match wiring colors.

the old sensors are 2-wire. the new sensors (for the past 15 years) are 3-wire with the extra wire being a ground.

I would use nothing that is not Mercruiser or Quicksilver. People on this forum have had trouble with the aftermarket stuff. Sierra is tempting, but I wouldn't use it.

Just a tip: Mine had a nut with a little ground wire on the bottom of one of the mounting screws that had to be loosened before removing one of the two screws.
