I have a 1985 Johnson 90. I believe the ignition switch is bad because I have power to the primer solenoid when I turn the key on...
Is there any way to test this? Thanks!

Re: Ignition Switch help

I also took control box apart and ignition sw. has power to the primer circuit/violet-white wire, when I turn on the key. Wouldn't this make the sw. bad??

Re: Ignition Switch help

The only time the violet/white wire should get power is when the key is pushed in, could the key be stuck in?
Sounds like a bad switch.
