ignition switch question

I recently picked up and old boat that I am taking to the dump, but keeping the motor 115 Jonny (115ESL73M) to rebuild/scavage parts for my 135 Rude (135383M). I built a stand for the motor, and am ready to mount it, but the ignition (key) switch does not turn. I picked up a generic at the local auto parts store, and while trying to trace the wiring I found in my seloc manual that you cannot use a standard automotive ignition switch on these CD Magneto motors. Does this make sense? and I am having trouble locating a switch for it...any ideas? I can't find it on the partsfinder on iboats. Thanks

Re: ignition switch question

You can pick up a switch at almost any boating supply store. The difference is the magneto polls on the back of the switch. With the key off the magneto wire circuit is completed and it kills the engine. Opposit with it on the magneto circuit is open and the engine can run. Just a heads up.
