I am rewiring a 1984 90 hp evinrude ignition switch. I bought a marpac ignition switch. I was trying to wire it off of the old one and old wires. I have a new cable with the red adapter. the marpac switch has a terminal with a i instead of one with a s. I tried to wire it up good enough to use my tilt to raise my motor a bit. when I touch the yellow red wire to the terminal marked s, the motor turns over when the key is on. I disconnected it right away. When I hit the choke on the key I hear the choke engage. I dont know what I wired wrong for the motor to turn over without turning the key all the way to start.??
