ignition timing

Hi!
It's a pleasure for me, i'm new on this forum.
I want to restore my Elto 5D11E, aparently a Gale U.S canadian version, and not to dammage it. That's why i need help.
First,
_ i don't know the ignition timing setup, precisely.
_Compression rate.
_Way to change speed
_Where to have parts
_The shop manual
You can really change my day...

1955?, has a cable speed adj.? Pick up an "Old Outboard Motor" from Clymer, the 5D11 was a real mixed bag of old carb and motor (1940's), newer ignition(?) with the 1950s FNR lower unit. Or does it have a gear shift? I'm getting confused....hehe
