Hi All;
I need help identifying the wiring on my ignition coil and also what the terminal are on the ignition coil itself. I attached a pic showing what I have traced so far.
This is on a mercruiser 250 chev inline 6 165 HP. Was upgraded to electronic ignition before I bought the boat.
After a re-wire (was messy before) I made an "oops" and did not label where a tan wire went to. It had +12v on it with the ignition on (motor off) - I saw 0 ohms reading the wire to a similar (but not exact - faded?) wire on the altenator.
I referred to my seloc manual - but the wire colors do not match up - I do believe they have been replaced from original.
Can you help me identify what each wire is intended for - and what each terminal on the ignition coil is?
Also - my tack is no longer working - so I assume I have it wired wrong even tho the engine runs fine.
thx
