Igniton Amplifier

Is there any way to check and see if an Ignition Amplifier is bad or not? I have what i assume is the old style.. Came in a 1987 boat w/ thuderbolt ignition... If i had to buy one i think the one on the link is the upgrade??

It says harness is not included.. What is harness? Before i buy one though i would like to check and see if mine is good.. Thanks

There is no way to test the igntion amplifier. You can check around it by following the chart below. It's in the OEM service manual you can download in the Adults Only sticky.
The harness, is the small wiring harness shown in your link. It's not included with the module.

What is harness?

Ayuh,...

If you do the Tests,+ find the module Is in fact Bad,...
The Updated module has a Different Plug,+ the harness has to be Swapped...
