This weekend is supposed to be beautiful. Guess I better throw the kids in the car and go pull the cover off the boat and see what survived the winter.

No more procrastinating!

Good to hear your getting ready to get to work again. I'm still holding out for better weather before I do too much if only I could find work as a professional procrastinator:D

You and me both Brutha.

I've been telling myself it's still too cold for paint and epoxy, but I think first order of business is pulling the motor forward and disassembling the gimbal to replace the boots. Pretty sure that's the source of my leak. By the time I get that all back together it should be July and I'll be ready to glass in the floor.

That's assuming my cover is still intact and the boat hasn't been destroyed. Haven't been to see in her at least a month now. Maybe I'll swing by today just to say hi.

I went over today, took the covers off, climbed in, sat and stared for a good 45 minutes. Accomplished nothing.

Wow I have a lot to do still. The intimidation about the size of this project has started all over again.

I'm gonna spend the rest of today watching youtube videos about replacing those boots and trying to develop a plan.

Sitting and thinking is something! Regular deal for me.

I am leaning hard towards the tube rather than the boot, if that means anything to ya buddy. Though, I may be swayed back the other way.

Hey, you see any good vids, post em up! I'm thinking that I'll be there in a few weeks or so. Maybe....

Cheers Bro!:D

Tube? What tube? Man, I've been away too long.

Here's about the only video I've found so far:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeFw2_jjAIA&NR=1

I seem to remember I need to order a special tool just to get the housing apart. Pretty sure I linked to it in this thread somewhere. Hey there's an idea, I should sit back and read my entire thread! Then maybe it'll all come back to me!

That would be like this guy here...

Instead of this...

I suppose the general consensus is that the tube is a little louder than the bellow (some would say not so much). Some fellas are saying more exhaust soot on the transom (some say not so much). All can agree that it's about 1000x easier to put on and no special tools needed.

I may go for it, we'll see.

That's a new one to me. I really don't think my exhaust bellows has any tears in it. But I know the shift bellow does need to be replaced, so I gotta go all the way in there anyway. And as long as I'm in there, I'll just replace everything.

Glad to hear the rig survived this winter, you must have done one heckuva a job covering it.

Jason is almost caught up so he will keep you motivated:)

I don't know why anyone thinks I'm ahead of Jason. I'm not even close. I'm going out today to buy several hundred bottles of Sunny D and laundry detergent.
