Hey,

Buying a new boat. While it's being built I'm deciding on an engine. For about the same price ($400 difference) I can get either a Yamaha 150HP Carb four stroke, or a Yamaha 200HP EFI 2 stroke.

Boat is a Sea Pro 206 Walkaround, 2400 pounds dry w/o motor, 20'6" hull centerline.

I decided on the 2 stroke 200. Or at least I thought I did. Without starting another war, what would you do?

On one side, the 200 is a stronger performer, at the max recommended HP range for this boat. Max HP Period is 225. The 200 is EFI which I like the thought of. The 2 stroke is less maintenance, less parts, etc.

The only real benefit I can see with the four stroke is resale, a bit of economy and overall noise. 150 is the minumum rec'd HP for this boat.

So let's hear it....
