Ok all,
I'm trying not to overpost, but this site is a wealth of info. Here is the situtation with my Ficht 150 (98)..lucky me...

Upper bearing seized last season causing crankshaft damage, some moderate block damage and also destroyed the flywheel and stator due to out of balance condition when motor went.

Started rebuild last spring with 2 new pistons, all new rings, all new crank bearings and also had to send the crank off to a guy in Kansas to weld and re-turn. I also purchased a used flywheel and stator from an outfit down in Forida.

Put everthing back together 2 weeks ago along with a new water pump. When turning the engine over, it sounded great..ie plenty of compression in the cylinders. Mixed 50 to 1 oil in fuel along with the oil injection for the motor and took out to the lake. Did some idling and putzing around just to make sure everything was good.

Started running really rough on idle and cutting out, It is now hard to keep the motor at idle. It does however run great when I get my Javilin up on plane. Now when I engage the starter. it has a really funny sound like loss of compression, so just out of curiousity, I did a cold compression check yesterday. there is a 20 pound difference from the top to lower cylinders. I know I need to run a warm-up before the check, but I never thought there would be that much differece even when cold.

Here is my questions...
Do I need the diagnostic software to check timing and such due to stator and flywheel change?

Will running a double oil mix dramatically affect idle on this motor.

Does this sound like a tear-down and see whats going on situation....??

Sorry for the long post..

Gerald
