After two Months and $2500 later I'm no longer landlocked. I never thought I'd miss the commotion and tirades of those trying to put their boats in the water or the faint smell of an outhouse in the distance. Having the pleasure of holding a cup of coffee while the bugs commit sucide on my face as I zip across the water and the feel of a slippery Leach as I conjoin him to my hook then wiping my hands on my jeans. I too have missed the sharp nip of my Rapala as I try to separate him from his buddies and the zing of my line as I cast and then the Cry of oh S... as it wraps itself around a limb and the unsucessful attempt to rescue it.
I do promise to never again flip my lure around those poor souls who are stuck on the bank with a Bobber. I will have compassion because I too, use to have to sit on the bank and watch with jealous envy as lures were aimed at my go Bobber. Happiness is being on the water again for sure.

I am now one with the lure again.......

gonfishn,

I am glad you got your boat fixed. Take it easy on the bank anglers.
Be sure to keep the bomber or in your case the rapala out of the boat seat  A hook in the sack is not a good thing to have :D ( This is not the way to be One With The Lure)
You might even find a use for the go bobber fishing in your boat.

It looks like I am going to have to repower mine :( :( and I dont think a merc. 75hp will be under $2500.00 :(

I hope my boat will be ready by next spring, I hope to get several worry free years from it:D Its a nice little boat.

gonfishn,

It would take a new power head. Its a 1985 4 cyl thats "been around the block a few times". It doesnt even have power tilt and trim :( .

I was looking at new boats but that is way out of the question. Besides I realy like the boat.

I like the suzuki outboards (they are fast outboards)but the new ones are 4 strokes and too heavy. I am wanting a good dependable motor. I think its time to retire the old work horse, and my wife said why dont you get a new motor. OHHH YEAAAAA!!!!! I have the wifes approval :D :D :D

Re: I'm Landlocked no more

Ah yes..Congrats are in order. But there aint a thing wrong with bank or pier fishin. I caught some of my largest fish from aa sewall in Matlacha Florida (Pronounced, 'mat-la-shay').

And I allways will consider the inconsiderate fishermen who interfere with other fishermen "buttmunches", regardless of the structure they cast from. But it's sure nice to be able to get some elbow room,as when the fishin hole gets crowded, you only need to start the engine and move to the next one.
Glad to hear you got your sea wings. Enjoy, and stay safe :D

Re: I'm Landlocked no more

Howdy 12 Footer
I never had the pleasure of fishing off a pier and as a matter of fact I've never fished in the deep blue before. Over the years I have driven hundreds of miles to fish on a hot lake for a few hours then have to come back. Someday though I would like to try the deep blue once. I just Can't imagine fishing for something that could eat me.......
