Pat, Reno is nice but Taho is heaven! I had the driving experience of my live driving down the mountain to Carson City - what a trip. No wonder Porsche put their US Offices in Reno!

Tahoe is a great place to boat as well. I rented a boat there for a day it was my first time driving a boat and it got me hooked. esp Emerald bay with all the eagles and the waterfall.<br />there's nothing cooler than an eagle pacing in front of your boat diving down just 15 ft in front of the bow grabbing a fish then pulling up and off towards the mountains.

NORTH WEST FLORIDA!!!! The pay scale isn't very high, but niether is the cost of living. Not alot of illegals (I ain't seen any), fishing in the beautiful rivers, bays and Gulf of Mexico. No state income tax, no big tornados, no earth quakes, no mud slides, no wild fires in this area, no ballot box morons, and nice cross section of country, city and Margaritaville beach life.

Stayaway from NJ, <br />Number 1 in property taxes!<br />Number 1 in Car Insurance!<br /><br />Personally the Cayman Islands. Non extridition treaty country, Warm sand,surf, and Women.<br /><br />So don't pay your taxes save up enough and go there.

Hey Ralph.....Make sure you move to the Nevada side of the lake. The lake is half Calipornia and Half Nevada. You can use a Calif. or Nevada license to fish anywhere on the lake.<br />At least the brain dead leaches in Sacramento haven't screwed that up, yet<br />In the mid 70's, my wife and I built a house at South Shore Tahoe, on a third of an acre. It took us two years to build it and get the final inspection, but we paid for it as we built it and were quite tapped, upon completion. We put it on the market as soon as we got the final inspection and sold it to the first people who saw it. The nice outcome was it that we doubled what we put into it in two years!<br />Go to... http://www.ipl.org/div/news This is a site that has world wide daily newspapers, including all 50 states online. Look up a Northern Nevada newspaper and go to real estate. You will find the lakefront property on the Nevada side is much more expensive than The Calif. side.<br />This is just to give you something to do tonight.<br /> ...Bob in Calif...

I saw on the news awhile back that property around Lake Tahoe is some fo the most expensive in the U.S..<br />One house sold for 50 million awhile back and that was the most expensive home ever sold in the U.S. (according to the news).<br />I guess if you don't need a lake view the cost of a home is considerably lower.
