Just had my water impeller replaced 2 weeks ago. Old one was bad. The mechanic verified everything was working fine after the install, and I was there to verify good water pressure coming out of the peep hole, no lights, warnings, etc. Fast forward 2 weeks......the boat hadnt been touched since the repair. Yesterday I put the muffs on it, fired it up. Started up fine, now no water exiting peep hole and temp warning came on after a few minutes.

What the hell?

Can't test waterpump function on muffs. Barrel or lake test.

It is very hard for a water pump impeller to burn up when the motor is properly submerged. ---And absolutly no test firing for a few seconds at the ramp or anywhere.---Any chance a phantom operator starts this motor when you are not there ?

Mechanic tested on muffs. The mechanic came to my house and made the repair. It definitely has not been started since.

Might sound stupid but i did this on my 115. Turn the hose all the way on. Just how my plumbing is layed out in my pole barn i have two valves (one that feeds the barn, other at the hose) to turn on my hose connections water. I opened the one at the hose and I couldnt get any water to pee. I took it to the lake and it worked perfect. I beat my head against the wall until i tried to water my garden. I then realized I only had my main water shut off only cracked allowing enogh water to fill small buckets and what not but not enough to keep my motor from getting ample water.

So open the hose all the way up, make sure you dont have kinks in the hose as well. Try that, its free

It was peeing when the mechanic tested it using the same hose. I'm gonna haul it to the lake and fire it up. Has me puzzled and a bit p$ssed.

be sure the stainless cup is not melted into the plastic housing. New impellers won't help if this is the case....

I took it to the lake and tested while on the trailer. No water exiting peep hole, temp light came on in about 5 minutes. on my way home I stopped and talked to another mechanic I know. He mentioned something needing to be glued on during installation. Maybe that didn't happen. Either way, guess I'm looking for a new mechanic.

I'm trying. Their business website is inactive and the ph # is not working. Seems shady huh? Lol. Rather difficult to find a reputable mechanic these days. I went off references on the last two I used and have very disappointed.

Any chance that he actually did not do the work? Did you see the old parts? Usually reputable mechanics leave the old parts in the boat to verify that they were replaced.

No doubt it was fully submerged.

I was there when he did the work so I saw the old impeller and the new kit being installed.

I talked to another mechanic when I came back from the lake and he mentioned gluing something together during the installation. Any clue what that could be?
