Impeller and water pump???? 1982 2 hp evinrude

I want to replace the impeller and went to shop.evinrude.com and saw in the break down it also has a water pump repair kit? I thought with the direct drive all you had was impeller pumping the water??? There is a water pump in there????
It is a 2hp 1982 evinrude. e2rcne

The impeller is part of the water pump, you can get just the impeller or the whole kit if the housing and base plate are in poor condition.
If you have the money get the repair kit, then everything is new and you have no worries, just changed an impeller myself today.

Thanks...I see that now...I will take it apart and get a look at the condition..Probably just do the whole thing because when I ran it I really didnt get much water coming out so Im going to assume that its in need of repair...although its only 2 hp Im not sure on how much water feeds through.
