Impeller change

I am in the process of changing the impeller and when I pulled off the lower end a Nylon/Plastic washer/spacer fell out now I cant figure out where it goes. The Motor is A 2006 Mercury 115 hp 4 stroke EFI sn# 1B392366

Guess were getting into a terminology issue. You mentioned in process of changing the impeller and you pulled off the lower end. My thought of the lower end is the drive shaft housing which contains the water pump housing and impeller. Also mentioned it was a washer, and I'm thinking round and flat, but you state item 20 which is a sleeve.

So back to the beginning, what were you taking apart when this item came falling out?

Alldodge, thanks for your help and patience, the item that fell out is ~1" in dia, ~3/16" thick, ~3/8" hole. I think it is #20 in this diagram, and yes I was plulling the lower unit to get to the Impeller.

#20 is under the water pump base so it wouldn't fall our when dropping the lower unit.

Did the water tube come out when the lower unit was dropped? #31 seems like a more likely suspect if the water tube was still attached to the powerhead.
