Impeller for 1987 OMC Cobra

I have seen a few threads that state the impeller does not need to be changed every year. My manual states otherwise. I have an '87 OMC Cobra with a GM 5.7 litre. I put about 50 hours a year on my boat. I do not run in salt water. Is it safe to go 2 years with the same imipeller based on my use?

It will be fine to go two or three years.

Agree..As long as it was not run dry it should last 2 or 3 years anyway.
