Hey it's me I again have another issue. So I hooked up the impeller and put the lower unit back on started the motor up it ran like a champ and my heat buzzer started so I immediately turned it off turned out I wasn't getting water up top. My gut immediately said the impeller was backwards so I took it all apart referred to the manual and it's good so I put it back together fired it up this time I didn't wait for the buzzer I put my hands on it and it started to get hot so I turned it off and now I'm confused I know my vernetherm housing and all is put together right I just don't know any thoughts on were to start guys?

When you installed the lower unit were the 2 guide tubes in place in the pump ?--Or did you just bolt it up.

The impeller can be working fine-pumping normally, but if the vernatherm is stuck shut, cooling water won't circulate through the powerhead and it will quickly overheat at idle.

I thought those could be a issue also.I got them lined up best I could cause there in a awkward spot, they have these white slip collars but really don't know the technique.

Those 2 plastic guide tubes should be in the pump outlets.--If not carefully assembled there is a risk of damaging / bending the water tubes.--Might not hurt to revisit the installation.

It' possible, but unlikely a new vernathern is bad. I'd probably have another look at the impeller install first...as racer suggested.

Was the old impeller bad ?--Was the motor overheating before the new impeller ?

Well I bought it from someone else it ran fine on the hose but when I took it out it would die as soon as I put in forward our reverse. So I took it home pulled spark plugs they had milk on them so I decided to do a small over haul New heads and gaskets exhaust cover gaskets New vernrtherm and gaskets springs and valves but those were not there when I removed it I had to replace them he had no springs or valves or Vern. So after all that I decided it was a good idea to replace the impeller the one in there wasn't bad but after getting to that point I went ahead and changed it
