I wasnt sure if I needed a new thread for this question. I just purchased a waterpump kit for my 1988 Force 125 Serial # 1254X8B. It appers to me the impellor that came with the kit is too big? I think it would fit extremely tight and bend the vanes? Is this the way it is designed? The kit I received is a Quicksilver FK 1069. I will Include a photo .Thank You

Re: Impeller Size Force 125

Part number appears correct.
Impeller vanes should be bent.
A tiny amount on one side, and a greater amount on the opposite side, because the pump is mounted offcenter on the driveshaft.

Install the impeller and key onto the shaft.
Wipe a few drops of dishsoap inside the pump cover.
Lower the cover onto the impeller, turning the driveshaft clockwise as you push the cover on. This will bend the vanes in the correct direction.

Re: Impeller Size Force 125

I have a force 150 with the exact same impeller by the looks of the pic. I just changed mine and thought the exact same thing. I decided to check the impeller in the motor. It was the same size. Then I thought maybe the last owner put it in and it's not the right one. I referred to my manual and it said nothing about it being oversized but it did say to lightly grease the impeler and housing with 2-4-C multilube or equivalent. I have put about 3 hours on the motor since and the pump seems fine.
