I've been shopping around for an impeller kit for my '99 Johnson 115 and have found several options;
-BRP
-OMC System Matched
-Red Rhino
-Other Aftermarket

Being somewhat new (not to boating, but to maintenance/PM on boats) I need a little guidance on what kit would be best, which I know comes down to a matter of opinion or personal preference. But if anyone has a personal input I would appreciate the help!

I know in a lot of automotive applications, a lot of aftermarket parts are junk but I didn't know if that crossed over to the marine world too.

I've found out the hard way that it's always best to use BRP parts or at least the OMC System matched parts. I've done more than a few jobs over again because I was "saving some money" with the aftermarket parts. Not that the aftermarket parts are bad, it's that they aren't as well made as the BRP/OMC parts and the kits aren't as complete either.

I ended up getting the OMC System Matched. It was $46 shipped. Should I have gone with BRP?

Exactly the same, just a 777 prefix, I am OMC system matched dealer and get some items cheaper than a BRP dealer!!!!
