Hey guys quick question. Isnt the exaust supposed to be spitting out a mist of water while running? So if it's not would you think the problem is the impeller and I should not be running it? My boat wont go into gear in either forward or reverse but I figured out thats my lower unit. I think they both went at the same time does that make sence? Thanks

The water pump is turned by the same shaft from the engine. You will get some water and exhaust out of the relief holes on the back of the engine but most of the water and exhaust go out the snout.

If you want to see if the pump is working, pull the plug that is on top of the engine in front of the thermostat housing. If water is being pumped it will come out there for sure.
