Impellor change

Found all the necessary answers I needed about my VRO after reading messages to Cortes165 today but now would like to knew as a novice if it is much trouble to change the water pump impellor on my 85 Evin 140 v4. Is it a job for a dealer?

With the factory manual and a minimum of mechanical aptitude, you can handle it. Change the complete ***'y (not just the impellor) with OMC parts. A common issue is missing the bolt under the trim tab, but if you follow the manual you'll be up and running the same day. Any problems, post em here and help will follow.<br />Good Luck

tim - Good advice from angus. Another common problem in seperating the lower unit is forgetting to disconnect the shift rod that is at the base of the lower carb in front. The manual (at least the OMC manual) gives pictures & step by step procedures.
