Impellor what dirrection does it spin

What direction does the impellor spin on a 1997 6 hp evinrude? 2 cilinder 2 stroke 100/1 gas to oil mix and how can I tell

looking down on it, it would spin clockwise I believe,, but when you are not sure, do what I do..<br /><br />look at the flywheel, you will see cutouts on the sides where you can wrap a rope on them to pull start it should your starter die.. from those markings you can tell which way the rope would spin the flywheel, thereby the motor, thereby the driveshaft and thereby the impeller..<br /><br />but I believe clockwise is the standard for all motors that I know of..<br /><br />regards<br /><br />Frank

Hey Bill, on my Force 5, Gear case pulled looking down on impeller it spins counter clockwise, if you have got it down this far,look at the way the vanes turn!Oh by the way ,You can tell if your a redneck sailor if you wear a different belt buckle on the lake every day! <br /><br />MTH54-Pink at night sailors delight, Pink in the morning sailors take warning!

Thanks I am going to install it in 10 minutes! You might be a red neck sailor if you judge someon sailing skills on how they handle a trailor in the boat ramp!
