Re: In boat fuel tank, supplement with electric pump?
Didn't get around to removing the fuel sender yet. But I did take it out the boat ramp, and hooked up the old primer bulb after the in-boat fuel tank then routed that to the fuel water seperator, then to the outboard. It took a while to pump the bulb up hard. The engine didn't want to stay running so that complicated things, but a couple times it would idle for about 30 seconds or so and die. I checked the bulb each time and it was soft, meaning it needed to be pumped up again? What does that indicate? The tank should be about a 1/4 full, maybe there needs to be more fuel in there?
I'm going to reverify the timing almost seems like it is retarded too much, it has a little back fire through the carbs and the idle seems too low. Then I'm going to buy a small portable tank and see what that does.
I spent all weekend chasing down a short in the ignition switch, and splicing wires, and learning how to do gelcoat (fun stuff...)
