Ok my friend bought this great property on Eagle Lake in Racine County. It has a guest house, a main house and a Huge 2 story boat house. In the boathouse is what looks like a huge trailer that has an electric winch bolted to the floor to pull it back from the lake in the winter. I assume that this would stay in the water all season and you just run your boat up on it when not in use like a lift. Does anyone have one of these? I probably will have to adjust the bunks for my boat. I will let my friend use it and the jet skis whenever he wants as I am staying in the guest house till my now exwife vacates the house I am paying for. So any info on this would be great. I did not see any mfg tag on it though.

Are you sure that it isn't a lift when in the boathouse? or does it just slide in a horizontal motion? Pictures would help.

Well, if the "trailer" has four (or more) wheels that run on rails into the water then it sounds like you have a "marine railway".

I don't have a boathouse, but I do have a marine railway. No better way to treat a boat.

The tracks normally need to come out in the winter so the ice doesn't make them into pretzels. Mine stay in though as they are heavier than most and we don't get much ice push here.
