Hey Turtle! Welcome, and great score on that boat for $450!! I too just bought a 76' SS with a Merc 800 last year, and I thought mine was a good deal at $1100 but hey that's the westcoast for ya so good on you. Let me know what kind of speed you get out of her when you get it running. According to the old speedometer on my boat I was getting just a smidge above 30 with a seventeen inch prop. I figured i would be closer to 40 mph with a 80 horse so I don't know if I need a tune-up or I need to re-prop. I also need to install a working tach.

El Toro Good to see your still around. Its been awhile. I bought my 16 SS in Oregon and finished the rebuild in August 3 months of tough work. Still have the 22 Holiday also. PUGETSOUND

Hey Pugetsound, Ya I'm still around usually lurking in the background checking up on the progress with everybody's boats. I saw the pics of yours too, nice job! I really should put up some pics of mine, I haven't done anything to it though but this summer may see at least a new paint job.
