A rolling stone gathers no moss. Or a moving boat gathers no barnacles.

Just don't leave it moored for 8 years like the last guy :)

It will be nice to see some videos of it flying again.

Re: In with the new and do what with the old?

I just got back from taking the boat out and I am very pleased with how everything went for the most part. The only problem I ran into was that when I was leaving the ramp there is a no wake zone for a little while and when it was time to hit the throttle I was loaded up with fuel and it died. I opened the throttle full and it started again. That happened two times after going through no wake area's so I think I may need to adjust the carb a little. It is a brand new remanufactured carb so it may be off a little. What do you guys think? Sorry I had my hands full for the first time out so I could not take any pics, next time. :D

Does it have an accelerator pump that's properly functioning? I had similar problems with my 3.0 mercruiser, it turned out to be a ripped diaphragm on the pump. If you just took the carb out of the box and bolted on with no adjustments, try tuning it first, if it still bogs down on you check the pump.

Very nice boat by the way, a great find for sure! Good luck :)

I finally got the rear seat base covered in matching carpet today and then finished installing the rear bench. I scrubbed those cushions like a mad man and they came out pretty good. The plan is to take it out tomorrow and adjust the carb on the water so that on Sunday I can take out Mrs.Vert. I have to just button up the blower tube before I leave the house in the A.M. and I am hoping to shoot some video for you guys to see.

Re: In with the new and do what with the old? Stingray fix up

Well I knew it was to good to be true, I lowered the outdrive to start it in the driveway with the muffs and what comes pouring out of the prop? Gear oil mixed with water! Looks like another seal went bad, Im taking it to the local Mercruiser mechanic on Monday to let him just go through it.

Hey Vert,
Major bummer about the seal. The rest of the boat looks great.
Keep the pic's coming.

photobocket works pretty well and easily for videos. Just upload them exactly the same as you would photos.
