my next decision is which type of engine I am mechanically minded but not sure which way to go with our first boat to me looking at inboards seem to be more accessible than outboard what are your thoughts

Thanks

you have it backwards, outboards are hanging out behind the boat in the open, inboards are set down in a hole in the floor

Once again, it depends on your perspective. I've worked on both and will take an inboard to work on any day of the week.

If you like slithering around on your belly like a snake and spending hours on end on your knees making repairs, buy an I/O.

If you like cutting the season short and spending time and money to winterized, buy an I/O.

Women are attracted to money.....they could careless what kind of motor a $100k boat has. All they know is it cost more than the metal flake one being driven by the over weight, sun burnt guy down the dock with Budweiser tattooed on his forehead .....lol

I read Inboard and y'all are talking about sterndrives. I will take a inboard over a sterndrive or outboard any day. So much simpler than anything else and the balance of the boat is so much better.
