Incorrect Prop or Motor Malfunction?

The manual says 4500-5500 rpms at full throttle. So I'm guessing that that's it! Nothing wrong with motor or prop, maybe go back down to a factory 3 blade 13p aluminum prop to get to the lowest normal operating rpm at WOT. I may be chasing ghosts. Will still tinker with fuel feed, already bought the stuff. Still doesn't feel right though... and they did say they got the 5500rpms in the test tank. If motor is loaded up in the tank, what's changing from there to the lake?

Unless things have changed, the tank run prop would look NOTHING like the prop you would actually use. It's designed to apply a particular load on the engine. Kinda like a particular set of dyno settings designed just for your engine. If you're engine turns the test prop to max rpm, there's nothing wrong with it.

That information in hand (there's nothing wrong with the engine), you would then select the optimum prop for your hull, weight, conditions you normally run in, etc.

A test prop is used when testing OB's on test tanks to run at full grip, why is so ? because if you run an OB at full wot range on a test tank with a true prop, tank will be emptied very soon when prop spins fully.

Ideal is to dial a prop that achieves combo tu run at max 5500 wot revs as usually loaded and boat happily after..

Happy Boating
