My wife and I just bought our first boat and we are looking for somewhere to to boat this weekend where we can dock our boat in the water overnight and that has reasonable lodging. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Indiana boating with lodging

Lake Monroe just south of Bloomington is an excellent spot. Its a beautiful lake, and Inn of the Four Winds is on the southwestern shore of the lake. They have a marina, launching ramps, transient slips, and a hotel. There is also golf nearby. It has been a few years since I've stayed there, but I'll find out again in a couple weeks (short family boating trip scheduled). We used to conduct the annual meeting of the Aviation Association of Indiana there, but we out-grew their conference facilities. Patoka Reservoir is another good spot in southern Indiana, but fewer hotel-type places. Lots of camping there. If you're in northern Indiana, the only place I've been is Pokegan State Park. Beautiful state park inn, Lake James is very pretty. This is another Aviation Association venue. Lots of restaurants and golf nearby. Those are the ones I know about. Good luck!
