I am rebuilding a 1989 Ski Centurion F2 from the fiberglass up. Been a looooong project.
The floor is now done and I have the engine installed. I am referencing my photos from years ago and cannot tell exactly where (get ready for a stupid question) where the negative cable from the battery attaches to the engine. If anyone can tell me or snap a pic and post it that would be awesomely appreciated.

Second question. The valve covers were rusted out on the engine. You cant get the Indmar vc's anymore. I put on Edelbrock tall valve covers instead. The caps are just rubber push-on. Is there enough pressure in there to pop off this type of cap?

Third Question: I need a PCV valve. cant seem to find one. Does a PCV valve do anything? just looks like an elbow joint to me. Can I use any PCV valve..say one from a 302?

Thanks!!!

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... #1, usually on a stud on the aft flange of the block,....

#2, there should be little to No pressure in the crank case,...

#3, the valve covers are just vented to the flame arrester,...

Do not block off Positive Crankcase Ventilation, if you do, you'll blow seals elsewhere! I had a 400M in my old Bronco and used a new style PCV valve and blew out rear main seal as the crankcase was unable to relieve pressure at the same rate. Find out the amount of venting each one allows and match accordingly! As far as marine vs. auto, I wouldn't say it matters? most (if not all) of the PCV valve is plastic and a spring.

Ayuh,.... Generally speakin', there's No vacuum ports on marine motors, which is Why I said to Vent it to the flame arrester,...

No PCV valve necessary,...

Yes, That's generally where almost all marine engines vent to :thumb:

Often the tall valve covers will not clear the exhaust manifolds.
