Re: Inflatable and Fishing Rods
Thanks guys for your quick reply.
I've realized that I didn't give all the details in my post. Sorry about that.
First, I have Intex Mariner 4. It does not have frame. It has a custom hard floor that I put in. It only have trolling motor, therefore I won't be flying. The motor mount is very small and away from the tube.
I use this only in inland water. However I use in California Delta where there's tidal current and wind. The water can get choppy, but because I am not going fast, it is not too rough. Actually what is worse is the wake boarders. I heard story about Aluminum boat being flipped by wake boarders.
I usually have my daughter sitting in the front and I sit in the back. I have battery and anchor in the back. I also have my second battery in the center of the boat. Our fishing gear, boat stuff and everything else are in the mid section. I use a small cooler box as my seat also.
I would like to carry 6 rods.
I think I should try the milk carton in the middle of the boat with all rods. This can also hold some of the other stuff so it will save some space. Hopefully it is not top heavy. With this at least they are all in one section, so that we still have room to swing our rods around. The back side is narrow, so there is no room for all rods. Plus I need to move the arm of the trolling motor and rods are going to be in my way. The front side is not good as I have to have my daughter get them for me. Plus, when I am alone it is just far. And with milk carton, I can move it around easily when I need to row the boat. I get stuck in the weeds and I sometimes have to depend on the oar to get out.
