Info on a 1994 Tracker Pro 17

Hi I just bought a 1994 pro 17 bass boat and I am wondering what the max engine HP the boat is rated for, thanks!

My 1990 is max rated to 60HP. The 40 HP Johnson moves it pretty good though.

I was hoping for 75 but 60 is not bad. Right now it has a 40 on it and being that its not running right I can't really judge it's true performance. So your 40 2 stroke is pretty adequate for your boat? That's good to know.

I'm happy with it. My speedometer isn't working and haven't checked with my GPS yet but I'd say 25-30 MPH. Doesn't sound like much but it is definatley plenty for this boat. Busy day on the lake is miserable and will beat you to death if you stay around the main parts of a lake. That being said it's the perfect fishing boat for me and I would not sell it.

That?s what I?m worried about too since I plan on using this boat at Lake Havasu but since I got a good deal on this one I will try it out and see if I can live with it.

i had a 97 pro team 17 with a 2 stroke 40 hp merc on it. with just me in it, it would do 34mph on the gps. that's pretty darn good for 40 hp.

That's good to know. I will be getting my boat back next week after a carb rebuild and hopefully I will get that kind of performance from my 40hp motor.
