A friend was given a Gale Buccaneer 5 hp outboard. The model # is 5D22B and the serial # is 888340 for my outboard. So I'm looking for any info I can get. Whats the fuel mixture ratio? Anyone know the year. How about a parts supplier? Thanks

Re: Info on a Gale Buccaneer 5hp

I got an Elto 5hp, 5D11E. On what i hearded, it's the same outboard. Evinrude takes possesion of Elto near 1940, and you have a model which has made only in 1955. Fuel mixture is 24 or 26:1. For timing me too i have a lot of problem to have informations on it.

5D22B is a 63 the last year for Gale production. It shares many components with the similar Evinrude/Johnson motors. Fuel mix is 24:1 using TCW3rated oil.Routine parts are still available
under the E/J applications. There are parts and reprint factory parts and service manuals here at iboats. Also many BRP dealers and dozens of venders of routine and more obscure parts.
