15GG-0015 is the Wards model number. Made by Gale Products Division of OMC. The Gale model number is 5S11.

Sea King was the M. Ward brand made by Gale, a division of OMC. You can use 24:1 fuel mix ratio, point gap is .020, plug gap is .030 on a Champion J6J or J6C plug. Check compression, clean the fuel system (tank, fuel line, carb), and check the lower unit for lube...it takes Lubriplate 105 white engine assembly grease rather than hypoid oil. It shares lots of parts with E-rude/Johnson motors of the same era, early 50's. Very reliable. Don't run it dry, submerge the lower leg in a trashcan or barrel full of water...water should be at least 1/2 to 3/4 up the leg. Running it out of water will fry the water pump impeller real fast. Can you post some pix?

Re: info on sea king

Coils are available all over the world, including here at iboats. 18-5181 is the iboats/Sierra Marine part number.

Carb parts are pretty much you are on your own. Fortunatly, they usualy don't need much. Packings are still available from OMC/BRP. If the float is shot, guys have been using the Sierra 18-7208 (Mercury) float by modifying it slightly.

Re: info on sea king

Possible, but not likely. They do get leaky and cause weak spark, but to totally kill the spark would be unusual. The easy way to troubleshoot the system requires a multimeter capable of accurately reading resistances of less than one ohm. (The el-cheapo analog ones usually won't) Resistance from the spark plug wire to the coil's ground wire should be several k-ohms. Resistance from where the wire connects to the points to the ground wire should be about an ohm with the points open and zero ohms with the points closed. If you can't get the zero ohm, the points are not making contact....probably your situation.

Lacking all this, take those points apart and individually clean each contact shiny bright, then try it.

571-58501 is a 46 3.5 hp built by West Bend.My info indicates 3/4pt per gallon.using 30 or 40 wt.With TCW3 you could probably go 1/2 pt per gallon 16:1. Point gap is .020 Champion J11J (J11C) plug set at .050. yes .050.
